What is a Welcome Week Wristband?

RGUSU and our partner venues, Priory & Prohibition, have teamed up to bring you a full week of top Welcome Week headline events, and you can be part of every night by buying an RGU Welcome Week Wristband! This wristband will get you free entry to all headline events taking place at Priory during Welcome Week, some exclusive deals, discounts and perks at Prohibition, PLUS free entry to massive bonus events before the end of September.

How do I buy a Welcome Week Wristband?

You can buy your Welcome Week Wristband on this page. Just follow these three steps...

1. Place your order and pay here
2. A QR code confirmation will be sent to your email, keep it safe
3. Come to a collection point (see below) during Welcome Week. We will scan your QR code and give you your wristband!

Welcome Week Wristband Collection Points

Wristbands collection points will be available at the below locations, dates and times during Welcome Week:

• Fri 5th: Woolmanhill Flats (1pm - 7pm)
• Sat 6th: Woolmanhill Flats (12pm - 6pm)
• Sat 6th: Sir Ian Wood Building (12pm - 3pm)
• Mon 8th - Fri 12th: RGUSU, Riverside Building (10am - 3pm)

Do I need to have ID?

Do I need to be over 18 to buy a Welcome Week Wristband?

Yes. Late night events at our headline partner venues, Priory & Prohibition, are 18+ due to the alcohol license in place. This means that we can only sell wristbands to over 18's.

If I am under 18 and can't buy a wristband, what is there for me to do?

We know it can be frustrating if you are not 18 during Welcome Week, and we don’t want you to miss out on some of our biggest events and activities, so we have tried hard to make as many events as possible on our line-up open to all ages. Look out for the All Ages tag on our events listing.

What if I turn 18 during Welcome Week, can I buy a wristband?

Yes, you are allowed to buy a wristband if you will be turning 18 during Welcome Week, but your ID will be checked on the door at Priory and Prohibition so you will not get in until your birthday.

Can my parents or somebody else buy my wristband for me?

Yes, just make sure they send you the confirmation email and QR code. You will need this to collect your wristband.

Do I have to buy my wristband online?

We will have wristbands for sale at our collection points (dates, times and locations noted above) but stocks are limited. The best way to guarantee you don't miss out on a Welcome Week Wristband is to buy online in advance here.

My friend is not an RGU student, can they buy a wristband?

Of course, if you have friends that study at Aberdeen University, NESCOL, or any other University or College, they can also buy a wristband to get access to our Welcome Week events. What are the Bronze, Silver & Gold Merch Upgrades?

You can also add a Merch Upgrade when placing your Welcome Week Wristband order here. This will give you credit to spend at our official merchandise store online (www.rgushop.com). Use this credit to buy yourself some RGU branded gear - hoodies, tees, sweatshirts, jackets, hats, mugs, water bottles, laptop sleeves, phone cases, we've got it all and more!

Note: if you are choosing Merch Upgrade credit please remember to add both the Welcome Week Wristband product and the Upgrade product to your basket then check out. Your wristband QR code will arrive immediately, your merch credit code will arrive in a separate email sent by the RGUSU team, usually received within 48 hours.
